How to Regain Your Lost Self-Confidence

Nobody can hurt you without your consent

There are many instances in life where your confidence is hit hard. Sometimes you overcome life’s hardness, sometimes you get overwhelmed. Sometimes your courage and confidence sees you through, but sometimes your self-confidence gets a beating. However, the point here to remember is that “Nobody can hurt you without your consent.” The problem is not as important as the impact it had on you, rather the impact that YOU let the problem create on you. In life pain is inevitable but suffering is optional, as the saying goes. It’s purely your choice, and whether you choose to bounce back or suffer is entirely your prerogative.

There can be many reasons that your self-confidence is hurt. You may have had a bad marriage and now are heading for a divorce. You were not chosen for your college’s football team; you may have been laid off. There’s definitely a lot of pain involved in any of the situations. But you don’t necessarily have to suffer. You must arise and resolve to get back your confidence.

The following ways would help you do just that.

Look at the brighter side

If you have been laid off, it would be okay to feel bad about it for a day or two but not more than that. Losing a job is a terrible thing, but it does not mean the end of the world. Who knows it might be a blessing in disguise. Maybe you have got some time to review your life, get aware of where you are going, have a look at your likes and hobbies which you could not develop because of pressures of your job. Maybe this is an opportunity to start afresh and live your life a new way which is more in sync with your abilities and aptitude. Similarly, a divorce may cause great pain but then you weren’t too happy in your marriage either. It probably was just not meant to be. Now you have a chance to rebuild your life the way you want it to be.

Stop comparing yourself with other people

When we have a problem we always question God – “Oh, God, why me?” Certainly God gave you a lot of rewards as well. Did you then get up and ask God –“Oh God, why me?” That’s what human nature is all about. We complain and remember God when we are in trouble or else we are too busy with ourselves. Stop looking at other people who seem too happy and comfortable to you from a distance. Stop comparing their comfort with your suffering. This will only frustrate you further. Focus on yourself and make every effort you can make to go out whenever you are feeling down. Self-pity is very addictive and capable of destroying lives. Instead of indulging in self-pity (though we all do from time to time), take control of your life and take responsibility for your actions, learn from your mistakes and make a fresh start. And yeah…don’t be bogged down when you hear a “NO”. A “NO” is something which even greats like Edison and Ford, too, had to face. If you look at them positively, you will find that each “NO” actually takes you closer to a “YES.” It’s been reported time and time again that Edison conducted more than a thousand failed experiments before he actually made an electric bulb! So get going and take the an occasional no in stride.

Are you standing in your own way

You will notice that shadows are caused when we stand in the path of sunshine. In our lives, too, we cause a lot of shadows by standing in the way of our own happiness. In today’s world, it is important to be flexible. A lot of people will look for a job for months, yet still reject work coming their way because they are not willing to adapt to some new job requirements. Jane, a schoolteacher, was laid off from her job. She kept trying for months to get a job as a teacher while rejecting opportunities such as taking private tuitions, being a nanny, doing copy-editing work as a freelancer. The long wait hurt her self-confidence even more. Sometimes it is wise to be a little flexible and adapt ourselves to new job demands rather than to look exactly for what we lost. It helps regain confidence quickly which brings along enough energy to get an even better job in the field of your choice!

Proven Hair Loss Remedies

Hair loss remedies become more and more popular these days since most men find healthy hair important.. The number of hair loss products on the market is numerous. Most of us prefer to use over-the-counter products, but it is not advisable to utilize the products without consulting your health care professional. The reason for this is that some remedies have side effects or cause irreversible harm.

Medications like Propecia, which are used as hair loss remedies can cause fetal anomalies if used in pregnant women. Hence it is advisable to avoid propecia if you are pregnant (propecia by the way is not recommended for women at all!). Not only in women, but also in men propecia causes side effects. In men, Propecia may cause lack of sex drive and impotency as serious side effects. Among the available hair loss remedies, Rogaine is used extensively by many people. This drug is also used for treating high blood pressure.

In order to get good results, it is always advisable to use either Propecia or Rogaine for at least 3 months. Since these hair loss remedies are having each their own side effects, please consult or get an opinion from your health care professional about your health before taking the medication. The most commonly used hair loss remedies are Viviiscal, Nisiim, Tricomin, and Revivogen.

Viviscal treats hair loss by avoiding thinning of hair. It is available in form of tablets and lotion. Nisim promotes healthy hair growth. Hair Loss Shampoo

Did you know that nearly 30 million people around the world suffer from hair loss? That’s why this is considered to be a billion dollar industry because both men and women feel social embarrassment. Even though thousands of hair loss products are available on the market, hair loss shampoo is the widely used product.
Hair loss is very often heritable. It may also occur due to aging or hormonal imbalance. Since hair loss is heritable, it may be from your father's side or mother’s side. There is a common view that the hair loss is mainly from mother’s side but it is not true. Different hair loss treatments are available for different hair loss patterns. One among them is hair loss shampoo.

Many people suffering from hair loss are using hair loss shampoo, because it is the easiest way of treating hair loss. But in a lot of cases not the best! There are numerous varieties of hair loss shampoos available in drugstores. One among them is Dr.Proctor’s hair loss shampoo, which consists of natural ingredients, no chemicals are added. Statistics show that this product is the favorite hair loss shampoo. The second most popular hair loss shampoo is called Life Extension Shampoo.

Other commonly used hair loss shampoos are Viviscal, Hair Genesis, Thymuskin, Revivogen, nisim, and Tricomin. A research study confirms that Thymuskin hair loss shampoo is 95% effective in female and 67% in the male pattern baldness. Viviscal shampoo is also very popular. It treats thinning hair, hair loss, and proclaims overall health of the hair. Viviscal is also available as tablets, scalp lotion and conditioner apart from hair loss shampoo. Viviscal is extracted from marine, which provides the essential amino acids to the hair follicle to keep it healthier. Hair Genesis is not only available as hair loss shampoo, but also as an oral supplement, topical serum, and conditioner. This natural hair loss product helps to block the DHT by using the botanical DHT blockers to impede hair loss. It has to be used for at least 3 months before any positive effect is seen as a result of this treatment.

How does a hair loss shampoo work? Hair loss shampoo cleans the hair follicle from debris, dirt, oil, and other wastes. These hair loss shampoos have thymus peptides that will diffuse deep into the hair follicles to remove the adhered dirt.

Hair Renew is one of the hair loss shampoos that are specially made for women. This hair loss shampoo cleanses the scalp, neutralizes the DHT in the scalp and also nourishes the hair follicles. DHT in the hair follicles blocks the available nutrients to the hair follicle which results in hair loss.

Be careful in selecting a hair loss shampoo, because some shampoos may harm your hair and may even provoke more hair loss than preventing it.

Essential Migraine Medications

Although there are many other alternative therapies for treating migraines, probably the first thing most of us will turn to is medication. Society today looks for quick answers found inside a pill, tablet or capsule to all our various ailments. There is certainly nothing wrong with resorting to medication, but when it comes to migraines one should be especially careful about what kind they use.

ASPIRIN

Aspirin is the grand old standby for pain relief. It seems as though aspirin has been around forever and its reputation is getting better every day as it has become a recommended daily preventative measure against heart attacks. Here are some thing to keep in mind when using aspirin to treat migraines.

• Aspirin should never be given to children under 12.

• Absorption of aspirin is much more effective and the chances for stomach problems are significantly decreased when dissolved in water.

• Aspirin can be used in combination with codeine; however be aware that codeine often causes constipation and/or dizziness.

PARACETAMOL

• Similar to aspirin, but usually less irritating to the stomach lining.

• Is often used in combination with codeine or sedatives which often strengthens its ability to relieve pain.

• Paracetamol can cause liver damage if taken in excessive quantities.

SUMATRIPTAN (Imigran)

• Prescription drug developed specifically to act against migraine headache.

• It has been proven to be quite effective against migraine.

• Imigram is available in tablet, injection and nasal spray forms.

• Sumatriptan effects include nausea, and chest and throat tightness.

• Sumatriptan should be avoided by those suffering from heart disease, poor

circulation or angina.

METOCLOPRAMIDE (maxalon)

• A prescription medicine used in combination with aspirin as an anti-nausea drug.

• May improve the absorption of other migraine drugs.

ERGOTAMINE (Ergodryl, Cafergot, Migral)

• Another effective prescription drug, this one was originally derived from a fungus that grows on rye.

• Unlike the other medications, this one is not a painkiller, but instead works specifically to reduce the pressure of blood vessels which causes migraine headaches.

• Is often used in combination with caffeine in order to improve its effectiveness.

• It is available in both tablet and suppository form

• Has been known to cause nausea.

• Works by causing a narrowing of the arteries, which may worsen poor circulation.

• This medication should not be used in individuals who suffer from heart angina. Dihydroergotamine (Dihydergot) is a similar drug that is given by injection.

PIZOTIFEN (Sandomigran)

• This is perhaps the most commonly prescribed preventative medication for migraines.

• Common side effects associated with pizotifen include sedation and weight gain.

PROPRANOLOL (Inderal, Deralin)

• Originally introduced to treat high blood pressure.

• Multiple side effects ranging from insomnia, depression and weight gain to nightmares,

impotence, and dizziness due to low blood pressure.

• May aggravate asthma and poor circulation, but is usually safe in heart disease and angina.

• Some people experience problems in absorbing this drug, so high doses may be required.

AMITRIPTYLINE (Tryptanol and other brands)

• The medication works on headaches independently of its antidepressant action.

Side effects include dry mouth, sedation, weight gain, occasionally blurred

vision, constipation, and bladder problems.

• New antidepressants like fluoxetine (Prozac) and similar drugs are not as effective as headache preventatives.

VALPROATE (Epilim)

• Introduced initially to treat epilepsy, it was found to act against most forms of headaches.

Side effects include weight gain, nausea, tremor, hair loss and liver injury.

FEVERFEW

• Not so much a medication as an herbal extract that has been found effective for treating migraine headache.

• Few side effects, but be aware that some commercial preparations of feverfew may

be too weak to be active against headache.

METHYSERGIDE (Deseril)

• Methysergide is related to ergotamine.

• Often causes upset stomachs and has also been known to cause muscle aches and dizziness.

• When used over long periods of time, methysergide has caused severe scarring around the kidneys, therefore it must be used strict medical supervision.

Dreams about arms

Seeing arms, either your own or someone else’s in a dream is very common. While arms do not always have special significance in dreams, arms can be very significant under some circumstances. Dreams in which details about arms remembered are likely to be significant, since it tends to be the most significant details that are remembered upon waking. Since dreams fade so quickly, if you are able to remember how arms figured in your dreams, chances are the dream had something important to tell you.
When you see your arms in a dream, especially when they represent an important part of the dream narrative, those arms may be symbols for your nurturing side, and for your desire to reach out and care for the people around you. Dreaming about arms is particularly common in people who are currently caring for, or worried about, a sick friend or family member. Reaching out with the arms in a dream is your mind’s way of telling you how important it is to connect and care for those around you.
Dreams about arms can also be indications of the challenges and struggles in your life. Again, the exact meaning will depend on the context of the arms within the dream narrative. Using your hands and arms for defense can indicate you feel like you are under attack, or that you need to defend yourself.
The impetus for this kind of dream about arms could come from many sources. For instance, perhaps you feel like you are being unfairly singled out for criticism in your job, and you feel a desire to strike back or defend yourself against the onslaught. Or perhaps you feel overwhelmed by events in your life, and you feel the need to struggle against those challenges.
Dreams in which your arm is injured, or dreams in which you appear with your arm in a cast, can signify that you feel an inability to care for yourself. These kind of injured or broken arm dreams an also mean that you are feeling helpless in being able to care for others. People who are caring for a friend or family member whose medical condition is beyond their control may experience dreams in which their arm is injured, or they may see themselves in a cast.
A dream about a broken or injured arm can also mean that the dreamer has been feeling restricted or limited in his or her activities. Seeing yourself constrained in the dream, by a cast or a broken arm, can be a symbol of your perceived restriction of freedom or movement.
The specific arm featured in the dream also carries a significance. The right arm is often seen as a symbol for an outgoing nature, and the right arm is often associated with the masculine side of the dreamer’s nature. The left arm, on the other hand, is more associated with female characteristics, such as nurturing and caring.
A dream in which the dreamer injures someone else’s arms, or even rips them from their sockets, indicate that the dreamer has been repressing anger towards another person, but has been prevented from expressing that anger for one reason or another. Like most dreams about violence, this type of dream stems from a repressed anger and a perceived inability to do anything about it.
